Get their ideas trending! Use Dotstorming to put your student's ideas to work.

As many of us have been discovering over the last year, or so, there's an incredible benefit to providing collaborative ways for students to share ideas both within and outside of the classroom using resources such as Docs, Slides, and Padlet. They're able to reflect, analyze and build new ideas in the process. However, that's often as far as we've taken it.

With Dotstorming, we're able to add a much needed upgrade. What Dotstorming does is, not only allow students to share their ideas virtually, but they're also able to vote on the contributed ideas they like best. This brings in an element of "crowd sourcing," which is the process of collecting a large group of ideas and letting the popular opinions dictate the big ideas. In other words, you can get ideas trending in your classroom.

I've been looking for a resource like this for some time. Beyond the gimmick, Dotstorming has a lot of incredibly useful applications. This could help with students brainstorming different ideas and need a consensus, English students trying to determine the theme of a text their reading, Math students collaboratively tackle a higher level challenge, a reflection after a video, and more. Plus, there's no log in for students, so it's very easy and quick to put a "dotstorm" together.

If you're interested in giving it a shot, let me know.
